Meet This dog 🐾

If This dog seems like they could fit into your household, arranging a meet and greet visit may help answer questions that are difficult to predict from online profiles alone. Some dogs behave very differently once they are interacting directly with people away from kennel traffic and constant shelter movement.

At Chicago Animal Care and Control, visitors may spend time walking with them, observing how they responds during direct interaction, or simply sitting nearby while they adjusts to the environment.

Volunteers are usually available nearby to answer questions about fostering, rescue partner involvement, surgery recovery timelines, and adoption procedures. Some rescue organizations may also explain what foster placement support may include for approved applicants.

For many adopters, small details during the interaction become much more important than anything written in a profile. Watching how the dog reacts during direct attention often provides the clearest impression.
