Meet Cosmo the Chow Chow 🐾

To foster Cosmo through a rescue partner, visitors can speak with volunteers about organizations that may be able to place a hold while foster applications are reviewed. Approval timelines vary depending on the rescue involved, although some organizations are able to move more quickly than others depending on available foster space and medical needs.

During the meet and greet, visitors may spend time walking with him, using treats or toys, or simply relaxing together in one of the quieter interaction areas. Some dogs appear more energetic once they are outside while others become calmer during one on one interaction away from the kennel environment.

Foster homes often provide dogs additional time to decompress and adjust to more stable daily routines. Rescue organizations may also provide supplies, veterinary care, and support during foster placement.

For visitors who are not ready for permanent adoption, fostering may provide a meaningful way to help Cosmo leave the shelter sooner while giving him more time to settle into a quieter environment.
