How to request an Uber Pet ride
- Open the Uber app and enter the emergency hospital as your destination.
- Scroll through the ride options and select Uber Pet if it is available.
- Keep your dog restrained with a leash, harness or carrier. Bring a towel or blanket if possible.
- After a driver accepts the trip, you can message them if your dog is large, injured or may need extra time getting into the vehicle.
- Uber Pet normally costs more than a standard ride and availability can vary, so keep a backup transportation plan when possible.
Service animals: Uber states that service animals do not require an Uber Pet trip and are permitted under its service-animal policy.
For a severely injured dog: call the emergency hospital first if you are unsure whether a rideshare is a safe way to transport your dog.
