Meet Nutella the Labrador Retriever 🐾

Visitors interested in fostering Nutella may find that spending time together during a shelter visit helps create a much clearer sense of the dog's personality, activity level, and comfort during direct interaction.

Some interactions may include outdoor walks, tennis balls, toys, or treats depending on the dog's energy and engagement that day. Other dogs prefer calmer interaction and stay focused more on the people visiting them throughout the experience.

Fostering can provide dogs opportunities to spend time outside the shelter environment while adjusting to more consistent routines and direct interaction with people. Rescue organizations connected with CACC may also provide support for approved foster homes during placement.

Some foster homes eventually decide to adopt after realizing how naturally the dog settles into everyday life and routines. Others simply appreciate having the opportunity to help Nutella spend time outside the shelter while continuing the search for a permanent home.

Helping a dog leave the shelter, even temporarily, can become an important step toward building confidence, comfort, and stability outside the shelter environment.
