My name is Red and I am a good girl. I am 1 year and 6 months old and I am an American Pit Bull Terrier mix. I have been waiting for someone to save me at Chicago Animal Care and Control since October 10. I am homeless and I really need to find my forever home soon. ⏳ Please come and visit me at the shelter. 🙏

Are You Thinking About Adopting Red?
If you are interested in adopting Red, visiting CACC and spending time together may help you decide whether (she/she) feels like a good fit for your household and routines.
Some visits may include outdoor walks, toys, treats, or time spent together in enclosed play areas depending on shelter conditions that day. Certain dogs become playful during interaction while others prefer calmer attention and slower engagement.
People with existing pets at home sometimes ask staff about helping dogs adjust gradually after adoption and allowing introductions to happen comfortably over time.
For people who are unable to adopt permanently, fostering Red through a rescue organization connected with CACC may also be worth considering.
