Are You Thinking About Adopting Joon?
Helping Joon leave the shelter may begin with a simple visit and some time together outside the kennel environment. Some dogs become noticeably more playful once they are able to spend time in outdoor interaction spaces while others simply appear calmer once things become less crowded.
At Chicago Animal Care and Control, visitors may spend time walking with him, using toys or treats, or simply relaxing together while getting to know him better. Some interactions begin in smaller enclosed spaces before moving into larger outdoor yards where dogs have additional room to exercise and explore.
Volunteers can explain fostering through rescue organizations for visitors interested in helping him leave the shelter sooner. Foster homes often provide dogs additional time to decompress and settle into routines outside the shelter environment.
Watching Joon interact in calmer surroundings often helps visitors imagine what life together outside the shelter could eventually look like. Spending time together in person usually provides adopters with a much clearer understanding of how he responds outside the kennel area.
