Some visitors spend the interaction walking with him while others use treats or toys while learning more about how he responds outside the kennel environment.

Foster homes can provide dogs additional time to decompress, settle into routines, and adjust to more stable surroundings outside the shelter. Rescue organizations may also provide supplies, veterinary care, and placement support throughout foster placement.

Some foster placements eventually become permanent adoptions while others remain temporary homes until the dog is adopted. Spending time together during the interaction often helps visitors decide which option feels like the better fit.
