My Story

My name is Safari and I am a good boy. I am a black American Pit Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier mix and I was found near 1400 Block W 63rd St in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood. I have been waiting for someone to save me at Chicago Animal Care and Control since June 19. I am homeless and I really need to find my forever home soon. โณ Please come and visit me at the shelter. ๐Ÿ™

Are You Thinking About Adopting Safari?

If you are interested in adopting Safari, interaction during a visit to CACC may help you better understand how he responds during activity, play, and one on one attention.

Outdoor interaction may include walks, enclosed play areas, tennis balls, toys, or treats depending on the dog's personality and shelter conditions that day. Some dogs stay energetic throughout the interaction while others remain calmer and more observant.

People considering adoption sometimes begin thinking about how routines may gradually develop once the dog becomes part of daily life at home. Walks, feeding schedules, exercise, and adjustment periods often become easier once consistency begins forming naturally over time.

Families with existing pets may also ask staff general questions about helping animals adjust gradually after adoption and allowing introductions to happen more comfortably.

For many visitors, spending direct time with Safari creates a much stronger sense of connection than simply reading about the dog beforehand.
