Adopt Tyra the Siberian Husky 🐾

For many people, finally meeting Tyra in person is when everything starts to feel more real. Some dogs become more playful once they are outside the kennel environment while others simply seem calmer and more relaxed during one on one interaction.

At Chicago Animal Care and Control, visits may happen outdoors in one of the enclosed interaction yards or inside quieter meet and greet rooms depending on weather conditions that day. Some visitors spend time walking with her while others use toys or treats while getting to know her better.

Volunteers can explain adoption procedures, fostering options, and rescue partner programs during the interaction. If Tyra still needs surgery before going home, she may need additional recovery time after the procedure before pickup becomes available.

Watching her relax outside the kennel area often makes visitors excited about what life together could potentially look like. Some people arrive planning to foster while others become interested in adoption after the interaction.
