My name is Grenadine and I am a good girl. I am a black & white American Pit Bull Terrier mix. I have been waiting for someone to save me at Chicago Animal Care and Control since June 30. I am homeless and I really need to find my forever home soon. ⏳ Please come and visit me at the shelter. 🙏

If you are interested in adopting Grenadine, visiting CACC and speaking with staff may help you learn more about (her/her) personality, activity level, and current availability. Some families also choose to bring additional household members during the visit so everyone has an opportunity to spend time together.
People with existing pets sometimes ask questions about helping introductions happen gradually after adoption. Staff may also provide general guidance about helping dogs adjust during the first several days after leaving the shelter.
Some dogs settle into routines quickly once they begin spending regular time in a home environment while others need additional patience before becoming fully comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings.
For people who are not ready for permanent adoption, fostering Grenadine through a rescue partner connected with CACC may also be an option.
