Adopt Jessica Jane the American Pit Bull Terrier 🐾

Watching Jessica Jane explore one of the interaction yards at Chicago Animal Care and Control may help visitors imagine what she could be like outside the shelter environment. Some dogs become more playful during one on one interaction while others simply seem relieved to relax in a quieter space for a while.

Some visitors spend the interaction walking with her while others use toys or treats during the visit. Spending time together in person often creates a much clearer understanding of how the dog behaves once things become calmer and less crowded than the kennel area.

Volunteers can answer questions about adoption, fostering, rescue partner programs, and surgery scheduling during the visit. For some people, meeting her in person becomes the beginning of deciding how they want to help her leave the shelter.
