Adopt Dinora the American Staffordshire Terrier 🐾

For many visitors, meeting Dinora outside the kennel environment completely changes the experience. Some dogs become more playful during one on one interaction while others simply appear relieved to relax in a quieter setting for a while.

At Chicago Animal Care and Control, dogs may be brought into outdoor interaction yards or quieter indoor rooms depending on shelter activity and weather conditions. Visitors may spend time walking with her, using treats or toys, or simply sitting nearby while getting to know her better.

Volunteers are usually available to answer questions about fostering, adoption procedures, surgery recovery, and rescue partner programs. Spending time together during the meet and greet often gives people a much better understanding of how she responds outside the shelter environment.

Some visitors arrive planning to foster while others begin considering adoption after the interaction. Watching her relax and interact in calmer surroundings often makes it easier to picture what life together could eventually look like outside the shelter.
