Adopt Lunaria the American Pit Bull Terrier 🐾

To save Lunaria and provide her with a more stable environment outside the shelter, visitors can begin by arranging a meet and greet visit through staff or volunteers at Chicago Animal Care and Control. Spending time together in person often gives people a much clearer understanding of how she responds during one on one interaction.

Depending on the day, visits may happen outdoors in enclosed yards or inside quieter rooms. Some visitors spend the interaction walking with her while others use toys or treats while getting to know her better outside the kennel environment.

Volunteers can explain adoption timing, fostering options, rescue partner involvement, and what recovery may look like if surgery still needs to be completed before she goes home. Recovery timelines may vary depending on medical scheduling and post procedure care.

Watching Lunaria relax outside the kennel area often helps visitors imagine what life together in a calmer home environment could potentially look like. Some visitors begin considering fostering while others move directly toward adoption after the interaction.
