Some visitors arrive planning to adopt while others want to learn more about fostering first. Volunteers can explain both options and may help connect interested fosters with rescue organizations that provide placement support, veterinary care, food, and supplies throughout foster placement.

Visitors may spend time walking with them, using treats or toys, or simply observing how they behaves during one on one interaction outside the kennel environment. Spending time together in person often gives people a much clearer understanding of how they responds in calmer surroundings.

Some dogs become more playful during the interaction while others simply appear relieved to relax outside the busiest shelter areas. Watching them explore the interaction space often helps visitors imagine what they could be like in a home environment.
