Are You Thinking About Adopting Zuma?

To adopt Zuma, start by visiting Chicago Animal Care and Control and letting volunteers know you would like to meet him. Some visitors arrive expecting only to ask a few questions and end up spending much longer interacting with the dog once the meet and greet begins.

Depending on shelter activity and weather conditions, the interaction may happen outdoors in one of the enclosed yards or inside a quieter room away from the main adoption floor. Some people spend the visit walking with him while others sit nearby and let the interaction develop more gradually.

Volunteers can explain what remaining steps may still need to happen before adoption is finalized. If Zuma still needs surgery before going home, recovery time afterward may affect pickup timing.

Some adopters prefer to move quickly once they find the right fit while others return for another visit before making a decision. Spending time together in person usually provides much more useful information than online photos or short descriptions alone.
