My Story

My name is Dr and I am a good boy. I am a white & brown American Pit Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier mix and I was found near 11300 Block S Princeton Ave in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood. I have been waiting for someone to save me at Chicago Animal Care and Control since April 17. I am homeless and I really need to find my forever home soon. โณ Please come and visit me at the shelter. ๐Ÿ™

Are You Thinking About Adopting Dr?

Some visitors stop by CACC expecting to spend only a few minutes with Dr and end up staying much longer once the interaction begins.

Depending on staffing and shelter activity that day, interaction opportunities may happen outdoors or inside quieter rooms away from heavier foot traffic. Some dogs spend the interaction exploring while others remain focused closely on the people nearby.

Visitors may spend time walking with him, relaxing together during direct interaction, or observing how he reacts throughout the visit.

People preparing for adoption sometimes discuss work schedules ahead of time so someone can remain home more frequently during the dog's first several days adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings after leaving the shelter.

For some adopters, planning ahead for decompression time, quieter routines, and gradual introductions with other pets can make the transition feel much smoother once the dog arrives home.
