Are You Thinking About Adopting Benedetta?
Helping Benedetta leave the shelter could begin with spending time together during a meet and greet interaction outside the kennel environment. Some dogs seem noticeably more relaxed once they are able to interact with visitors in calmer surroundings away from the busiest shelter areas.
At Chicago Animal Care and Control, visitors may spend time walking with him, using toys or treats, or simply relaxing together while getting to know him better. Some interactions begin in smaller enclosed spaces before moving into larger outdoor yards where dogs have additional room to explore and exercise.
Volunteers can explain fostering through rescue organizations for visitors interested in helping him leave the shelter sooner. Foster homes often provide dogs additional time to decompress, settle into routines, and adjust to home environments outside the shelter.
Watching Benedetta interact in calmer surroundings often helps visitors imagine what life together outside the shelter could eventually look like. Spending time together in person usually gives adopters a much clearer understanding of how he behaves away from the kennel environment.
