Meet Tuxedo the American Staffordshire Terrier 🐾

Some visitors spend days thinking about whether they should meet Tuxedo before finally deciding to visit Chicago Animal Care and Control in person. Once the interaction begins, many people realize very quickly whether they feel a connection with the dog or not.

Meet and greet visits may happen outdoors in enclosed interaction areas or inside quieter rooms depending on conditions that day. Some dogs immediately want to explore while others stay close to the people around them during the interaction.

Visitors may spend time walking with him, using treats or toys, or simply observing how he reacts during direct interaction away from the kennel area. Those small moments often provide a much clearer understanding of the dog's personality and comfort level.

Volunteers can also answer questions about fostering, adoption procedures, surgery recovery expectations, and rescue placement support. If Tuxedo still needs medical procedures before going home, additional recovery time afterward may be necessary before pickup becomes available.
