Are You Thinking About Adopting Nyema?
To adopt Nyema, visitors can speak with staff or volunteers at CACC about current availability and whether any remaining medical procedures still need to happen before he is ready to leave the shelter. Some dogs are able to go home fairly quickly while others still require surgery followed by recovery time.
Interaction opportunities may happen outdoors in enclosed yards or inside quieter rooms depending on staffing and shelter activity that day. Some visitors spend time walking with him while others focus more on observing energy level, attention, and comfort during direct interaction.
People preparing for adoption may want to think ahead about feeding schedules, sleeping arrangements, transportation home, and whether someone can spend extra time at home during the dog's first several days adjusting to a new environment.
Families with existing pets may also want to call ahead and ask staff about current recommendations for introductions after adoption and ways to help the transition go more smoothly at home.
