To adopt Unknown, volunteers at Chicago Animal Care and Control can explain what steps still need to be completed before he is ready to go home. If surgery is still pending, he will need recovery time afterward before pickup becomes available.

Depending on the weather and shelter activity, visits may happen outdoors in enclosed yards or inside quieter interaction rooms. During the meet and greet, visitors may walk with him, use treats or toys, or spend time observing how he responds once things become calmer and less crowded.

Some adopters decide quickly after the interaction while others spend additional time learning about fostering, rescue involvement, or post surgery recovery expectations before making a final decision.
