Are You Thinking About Adopting This dog?

To bring Unknown home, speak with staff or volunteers at Chicago Animal Care and Control about any remaining medical procedures or recovery steps that may still need to be completed before he is ready to leave the shelter. Some dogs are available sooner while others still require surgery followed by recovery time.

Meet and greet visits may happen in one of the outdoor interaction yards or inside quieter rooms depending on shelter activity and weather conditions. Some adopters spend the interaction walking with him while others focus more on spending quiet time together outside the kennel environment.

Watching him explore outside the kennel area often gives visitors a much clearer understanding of how he behaves once things become calmer and less crowded. Spending time together in person may also help people imagine what life together at home could potentially look like.

Volunteers can also explain fostering through rescue organizations for visitors interested in helping him leave the shelter sooner while continuing to learn more about him in a home environment.
