Are You Thinking About Adopting Gianna?

Helping Gianna leave the shelter could begin with something as simple as scheduling time to meet him in person. At Chicago Animal Care and Control, volunteers can usually explain how meet and greet visits work and answer questions about adoption, fostering, or recovery expectations.

Some dogs become more playful during interaction time while others stay fairly calm and focused on the people around them. Visitors may spend part of the interaction walking with him, using toys or treats, or simply sitting nearby while getting to know him better.

If Gianna still needs surgery before adoption can be finalized, volunteers can explain what the recovery timeline may look like and when pickup could become available afterward.

Some visitors arrive planning to foster and later decide to adopt permanently. Others initially come to adopt and realize fostering may fit their current situation better. The interaction itself often helps make that decision clearer.
