Are You Thinking About Adopting Port?

If you are interested in fostering Port, rescue organizations connected with Chicago Animal Care and Control may be able to explain what support is available for approved foster homes and how placement timelines may work.

Some foster homes provide temporary housing while the rescue searches for a permanent adopter. Others eventually decide to adopt after spending additional time together outside the shelter environment.

Meet and greet visits may happen outdoors or inside quieter rooms depending on shelter conditions. Visitors may spend time walking with him, observing how he responds during direct interaction, or simply getting to know him better away from the kennel area.

Foster placements often provide dogs additional stability, routine, and recovery space outside the shelter. Rescue groups may also provide veterinary care, supplies, food, and placement guidance throughout the foster period.
