Are You Thinking About Adopting Baby?

If you are interested in fostering Baby, volunteers at Chicago Animal Care and Control can explain how rescue partner placements work and what the approval process usually involves. Some rescue organizations are able to place holds while foster applications are being reviewed.

Meet and greet visits may happen outdoors in enclosed interaction yards or inside quieter rooms depending on shelter activity and weather conditions. Some visitors spend the interaction walking with him while others use treats or toys while learning more about how he responds outside the kennel environment.

Foster homes can provide dogs additional time to decompress, settle into routines, and adjust to more stable surroundings outside the shelter. Rescue organizations may also provide supplies, veterinary care, and placement support throughout foster placement.

Some foster placements eventually become permanent adoptions while others remain temporary homes until the dog is adopted. Spending time together during the interaction often helps visitors decide which option feels like the better fit.
