Meet and greet visits may happen in one of the outdoor interaction spaces or quieter indoor rooms depending on weather conditions and shelter activity. Some visitors spend time walking with her while others use treats or toys during the interaction while learning more about how she behaves outside the kennel environment.

Foster homes often provide dogs additional time to decompress, adjust to routines, and settle into more stable surroundings outside the shelter. Rescue organizations may also provide supplies, veterinary support, and guidance throughout foster placement.

Some foster placements eventually become permanent adoptions after people spend more time together at home. Spending time together during the meet and greet often helps visitors decide which option feels like the best fit.
