Are You Thinking About Adopting Thunder?
If you are interested in fostering Thunder, volunteers at Chicago Animal Care and Control can explain how rescue partner placements work and what the approval process may involve. Some rescue organizations may be able to place holds while foster applications are being reviewed.
Meet and greet interactions may happen outdoors in enclosed yards or inside quieter rooms depending on weather conditions and shelter activity that day. Some visitors spend the interaction walking with him while others use toys or treats during one on one interaction outside the kennel environment.
Foster homes often provide dogs additional time to decompress and settle into more stable daily routines outside the shelter. Rescue organizations may also provide veterinary support, food, crates, and other supplies throughout foster placement.
Some foster placements eventually become permanent adoptions after people spend additional time together at home. Others remain temporary placements while the rescue continues searching for the right long term fit.
