My name is Alyx and I am a good girl. I am a Labrador Retriever mix. I have been waiting for someone to save me at Chicago Animal Care and Control since July 22. I am homeless and I really need to find my forever home soon. ⏳ Please come and visit me at the shelter. 🙏

Note to visitors: Walk-in adoptions run daily. Please arrive before 5:30 PM for same day adoptions, and no later than 6:30 PM to visit with dogs.

If you would like to adopt Alyx, staff at CACC may be able to answer questions about (her/her) personality, activity level, and adjustment after leaving the shelter.
Some visitors spend more time walking and playing with the dog during interaction while others focus on quieter companionship and direct attention together. Toys, treats, tennis balls, and outdoor areas may sometimes be included depending on shelter conditions that day.
People with existing pets sometimes ask about slower introductions after adoption and helping animals settle comfortably together over time.
For people interested in helping Alyx outside the shelter environment, fostering through a rescue organization connected with CACC may also be an option.
